"She knew she was gonna walk out there and sing like an angel, she knew she was going to get them; that's where she was smart," Grimshaw said about Boyle's overnight success story following her audition on Britain's Got Talent in 2009.

But after releasing a few songs and albums, Grimshaw said Boyle "dropped off the radar" and "we all thought that was her moment in the sun".

However, Boyle managed to surprise everyone yet again, when she released a new album in 2019 after 10 years out of the spotlight.

"It was her first album in 10 years and she's about to release it and she is only giving a select few interviews because she has had a diagnosis that she is on the autism spectrum," Grimshaw revealed after getting the chance to talk to her.

During the 2019 interview, Boyle said to the then-A Current Affair host that she was "not ashamed" of her diagnosis and hoped that by sharing her own story, she could be "the voice for people who have been the underdog".
