Time running out for animal shelter in need
They're our best friends who love us unconditionally, protect us and forgive us.
But all too often our four-legged friends get a raw deal and deserve a second chance.

The Craigieburn shelter has rescued and rehomed more than 17,000 pets, given out 1.2 million free pet food meals and desexed 10,000 cats and dogs over the last 17 years. Nine
Since then, the shelter in Craigieburn, north of Melbourne, has rescued and rehomed more than 17,000 pets, given out 1.2 million free pet food meals and desexed 10,000 cats and dogs.
This has all happened by donations, fundraising and dedicated volunteers.
In the past six months, veterinary bills have risen to $366,000 while donations have halved.
The shelter needs $200,000 by November or faces closure.
