The groundbreaking new dementia trial experts are calling the 'slip, slop, slap of brain health'

Lenyce and David have been together for more than 60 years.

Every day the pair visit a special walking track outside Ballarat, where he sings to her, trying to remind her of their high school romance.

The Dementia-Friendly Forest and Sensory Trail is a special place for the couple and thousands of other Aussies living with cognitive function diseases.

Across the country about 400,000 people live with dementia.

That number is set to double in the next three decades.

But now a trial is giving families like Lenyce's hope.

"This could be the slip, slop, slap of brain health," Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing Professor Henry Brodaty said.
