Two sisters, two brothers, one massive wedding

It's far from your average love story: two brothers and two sisters getting married at the same time, even saying their vows alongside their siblings.

The newlyweds told A Current Affair they decided to join their wedding days together after the pandemic thwarted their original plans, which were initially separate.

"We both lost a lot of money with deposits in that we just thought we might as well you know, save the money have one family and just do together," one of sibling brides Leanne Alyas said.

Their quirky tale of love began when Leanne's sister Lisa Alyas fell in love with Mark Chetcuti.

Lisa and Mark met while working for Virgin Australia at Melbourne Airport and they have been together for three years.

Then Mark and Lisa introduced their younger siblings Leanne and Anthony by inviting them both to come along for some Christmas shopping, which was the beginning of their romance.

"I was scared because in case anything happens, I didn't want like to ruin their relationship if me and him didn't work out," Leanne said.

But like all good fairytales, things worked out with both couples getting engaged and planning their separate weddings until COVID-19 hit.

After multiple cancellations and date changes the couples started planning their big day together.

"We thought two brothers, two sisters, same parents, same family, same immediate family, we might as well kill two birds with one stone," Lisa said.

The joint wedding was one massive double celebration and on a beautiful Melbourne day their dreams became a reality.

Lisa was the first to walk down the aisle, followed by Leanne.

And standing side by side they said their vows before sealing their love and matrimony, with their first kisses as husbands and wives.

And the day was better than any of them could have imagined.

"More special that we got to share it with our siblings and even more special that we finally got to do it after so much time. So pretty special," Lisa said.

And now the two Chetcuti couples are off to live the rest of their happily ever afters together.

"We can't even see our lives without each other, us four," Lisa said.

"Now we're thinking honeymoon, let's have it together.

"Let's do everything like, just together. It's just like one family, but it really is."
