If A Current Affair has details of suspected commercial solariums, please pass this information on, and EPA Officers will investigate.

It is against the law to provide a cosmetic UV tanning service for a fee in NSW. 

It is also dangerous.  

If anyone is offered solarium services or believes a business may be operating illegally as a solarium, please contact the NSW Environment Protection Authority’s Environment Line on 13 15 55 so they can investigate. 

Anyone caught offering UV tanning services risks fines of up to $22,000 for individuals and $44,000 for businesses.

The EPA relies on the community to report all instances of regulatory breaches.

We work closely with the community to gather intelligence on suspected solarium operations.

The EPA’s Radiation Regulation team also works proactively in monitoring advertising websites like Gumtree where solarium services may be offered.
