Rita's on the warpath

Since then, Rita has seen eight more PMs, and still no footpath – so her patience is wearing thin.

Statement from Frankston Council CEO Dennis Hovenden

The Mayor and I have met with Mrs Kenney to discuss her 46 year advocacy campaign to have a footpath installed outside her property.

It was recognised that previous commitments had been made but not actioned. We have since given a commitment that the Council will work with residents with the aim of building the footpath in this financial year.

Some nearby residents have presented a petition for Council to reconsider building a footpath. As a result, we have undertaken consultation and investigations which will be taking into account when a decision is made at the 4 June Council Meeting.

In looking at this matter, Council is considering the construction of the footpath and a safe pedestrian crossing.
