'Block the gate, meet your fate': Business owner's solution to keep drivers off his private property

A Queensland business owner sick of people parking in his driveway is deterring guilty drivers with the simple spray of a hose.

Bruce Kerr has operated his IT company from a Rockhampton office for the last 10 years.

But he claims that in recent years, customers from a neighbouring shop have begun parking in his driveway.

Kerr says he tried putting up signs and sending number plates to police, but found the only effective solution was for him to serve up a spray with the flick of a switch.

"From all the cameras we've got, we're pretty quickly alerted when someone's parked there and so we flick a switch," Kerr said.

"We don't even have to actually leave our desks to do that.

"Block the gate, meet your fate."

The hosing down has left plenty of drivers soaked and sorry, but as Kerr's CCTV cameras discovered, some people don't take being hosed and humiliated very well.
