Prince Harry’s special message after Invictus Australia funding U-turn

When it comes to inspiring Australians, our veterans are right up there.

Many turn to Invictus Australia to give them life after service.

Navy veteran Luke McCallum described the program as “life changing”.

“I found somewhere that I belong for the first time since I was discharged,” McCallum said.

Fellow navy veteran Colin McCallum has also benefited from being a part of the Invictus Australia community.

“Knowing that at my rowing group if I don’t turn up I’m going to get a message that says ‘are you ok?’ and I think that’s the difference,” he said.

So when A Current Affair found out the federal government cut all of its funding, we couldn’t turn our backs on them.

After our campaign that funding was re-instated for another three years.

Prince Harry founded the Invictus concept, so his team watched closely and sent us a message. 

“The Duke is absolutely thrilled. Thank you to the whole A Current Affair team for taking on this important campaign,” he said.

We would do it all again in a heartbeat.
