Heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne is being remembered as a pioneering rebel, rocker and reality star following his death at age 76.

Born John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham 1948, he was the lead singer for heavy metal's answer to The Beatles, Black Sabbath before being fired for drug use and starting an incredibly successful solo career.

While his wilder-than-wild on-stage antics shocked, horrified and delighted in equal measure, his daggy homebody dad persona at home won a whole new legion of fans while blasting his family into stardom through reality show The Osbournes.
