Aussies will soon be able to rent out everyday items online
A new website backed by a who's who of business is asking us to rethink whether we should buy things, or simply just rent them.
Releaseit, which launches tonight, is calling itself Australia's first central online rental marketplace.
"We are the eBay of rental," co-founder Peter Krideras said.

Mr Krideras, who helped create Click Frenzy, and retail expert Stephen Kulmar, said their website would allow established businesses and individuals to rent items.
Releaseit has signed up a range of established rental companies, including Glam Corner, Radio Rentals and Carly.

"The future is all about identifying the stuff I have to own and use frequently, and the stuff that I don't use frequently and don't have to own, but would like to access," Mr Kulmar said.
The duo came up with the idea ahead of what they feel will be a boom in the environmentally friendly "circular economy".
The industry has been valued in the billions, with a number of start-up businesses launching in recent weeks.

AirRobe, is another hanging its hopes on the market and has just linked with online fashion giant The Iconic.
"You can either lend out the item and make some money from it, or you can decide you're done using it and list it for resale, or donate it, or even recycle it," founder Hannon Comazzetto said.

"I think it's super important to have these tools to take action rather than just talk about it, and we can educate people when it comes to their consumption of fashion."
Releaseit is offering A Current Affair viewers a special offer for its launch.
For anyone that signs up on Friday and lists their first product when Releaseit goes live from 9pm, will have all their fees and charges for the first rental transaction waived.
