Tracey Sturgess has been a loyal Kmart customer for years, until an embarrassing glitch the security systems.

Statement from Kmart

Kmart Australia do not use facial recognition bio metric information in any of our stores.  

The reference from the team around facial recognition was an incorrect use of language and we have updated the team with the correct terminology around our CCTV system.  

The customers interaction when returning the product instore is not part of our process at Kmart. Our returns policy is listed on our website, https://www.kmart.com.au/returns-policy  and our team follow this process everyday in store and online.    

Unfortunately this customer experienced a delay due to a CCTV trial we are running, we appreciate the feedback and will look at ways we can streamline the current CCTV trial processes to ensure that other customers won’t have the same unfortunate experience.
