Lash pest accused of harassing beauticians across Melbourne

A serial lash salon visitor has spooked beauticians across Melbourne.

Michael Rinaldi has been accused of having a "frightening" obsession with eyelashes.

He isn't interested in actually having a treatment, it seems.

Instead Rinaldi appears to just want to talk to salon staff and ask invasive questions.

He has frequented multiple Lash Envy stores across the city, even calling one store up to 20 times per day.

One salon owner said she put a warning out on social media.

She claims it prompted an avalanche of other beauticians to respond with similar stories.

"It seems this man has been doing this all over Melbourne, every single lash salon that has written back to us saying that he has gone in person, harassed staff," McKenna told A Current Affair.

Another salon owner claims Rinaldi has been harassing her staff for the better part of a decade.

Rinaldi's criminal history includes a $1000 fine for six counts of using a "carriage service to harass".

During that court hearing he was put on a bond, meaning he must remain on good behaviour for a year.

Victoria Police said it was investigating alleged stalking and threats at a business in Moonee Ponds.

"The investigation is in its infancy and ongoing," a police spokesperson said.
