Meet the volunteers turning mourning into memory after the Bondi terror attack

Today marks one month since a father and son allegedly went on a killing rampage at Bondi Beach, targeting Jewish Australians as they celebrated Chanukah by the Sea.
In the days after, thousands of tributes poured in to pay tribute to the 15 lives stolen.
Now, a harbour away from the shores of Bondi Beach, an unassuming warehouse in North Sydney is doubling as an operations centre to turn mourning to memory.

When it was confirmed Waverley Council would remove the temporary memorial at Bondi, Sydney Jewish Museum senior curator Shannon Biederman and her team sprang into action.
"When it was heard that the memorial was going to be de-installed I think there really was a groundswell of support to save as much as possible," Biederman said.
"It feels like we're busy doing something meaningful."
They arrived at dawn to start the salvage mission.
"I think it has been really comforting for people to know that flowers have not been thrown away and so that's part of the story," artist Nina Sanadze said.
