Love coach blames 'clients from hell' for bad reviews

Controversial love coach Jake Maddock has claimed "clients from hell" are to blame for a blizzard of complaints about his online services.

A Current Affair first exposed a raft of allegations about the former prison guard and soldier turned matchmaker in May, when Maddock abruptly stormed out of an interview with the program.

"If you coach enough people, thousands and thousands of people, eventually you're going to run into some that are very bad," Maddock said when recently approached by A Current Affair in his hometown of Hervey Bay, Queensland.

"You're going to get some clients from hell, there's not much you can do."

A Current Affair has received dozens of emails from people detailing their experiences with Maddock following the first report.

"A lot of people hate my advice online," Maddock said, denying he pressured prospective clients into handing over thousands of dollars for services that he did not fully deliver.

Single mother Natasha told A Current Affair she felt as though Maddock had taken advantage of her.

"I just left a 30-year marriage," she said.

"$3000 out of me to start with.

"And then he harassed me for ages to get another $6000 to have a lifetime commitment with them."

It comes as A Current Affair uncovered troubling posts on an old Facebook page purporting to belong to Maddock.

"First time on a Brisbane bus lol (sic) loved it! Lots of interesting people to rape," one post read.

Another post claimed the "best part about payin (sic) a hooker to clean ur (sic) toilet" was that you "can rape her afterwards and no body cares!".

Maddock did not respond to questions about this.
