A concerning security flaw has been exposed inside the Uber app, with hackers taking control and fleecing passengers and drivers.

Kristina O'Neill is an Uber driver who was frozen out of her account three months ago.

That's when a man called her on the phone, claiming he worked for Uber and could help fix the problem.

The hacker went by the name Frank Osman, later contacting O'Neill via the Telegram messaging app and on an Australian mobile number.

He initially tried to help, but he was not from Uber.

"The tone goes from helpful to frustrated, to then threatening, as well as highly inappropriate," O'Neill's husband John said.

The hacker could see all the details inside O'Neill's app, including her balances and even the names of Uber support staff assisting her.

Almost $5000 of her pay was frozen. And she isn't the only one who has faced this issue.

Unfortunately for them, Uber doesn't have a hotline to call when you've been hacked.
