Homeowner's four-year battle to reclaim street address
Two homes, one address.
May had every right to believe she had purchased 1 Centaur Street in south-west Sydney in 2015.
The real estate agency advertised her new home as 1 Centaur Street, the seller's solicitor documented the sale as 1 Centaur Street and various NSW government offices officially referred to May's home as 1 Centaur Street.

So you can imagine May's horror one day in 2019 when the new home built on vacant land right next door to her was given the exact same address as May's house, 1 Centaur Street.
For the past four years, May's been hitting dead ends with the Canterbury-Bankstown Council, the NSW government and local MPs to reclaim her historic number.
So May's family approached A Current Affair to help solve the conundrum of 1 Centaur Street.
