Today, after a year-long Federal Court hearing, the hammer came down on the Ruby Princess, with Justice Angus Stewart finding the respondents, Princess Cruise Lines and Carnival, should have stopped the cruise setting sail.

Fred and Julie Jackson were among the hundreds of passengers onboard.
They both ended up in hospital with COVID-19 after the cruise.
Julie died last year from an unrelated disease. Fred says doctors told him COVID-19 shortened her life.
"I've lost ... time together, which we were enjoying," he said.
"I've lost all that because of stupid people and greedy people."
