For Australian kids dreaming of one day becoming an Olympian, the hunt is on to track down our Brisbane 2032 champions.

But this time, it's not the traditional try-out, as AI is helping find untapped talent.

The Queensland Academy of Sport is using the new You For 2032 app to identify the next generation of star athletes.

"We're going to put you through your paces looking at your speed, your strength, your endurance, your balance, your coordination... then inviting the best of those athletes into our (in-person) test sessions," Alex Roberts from the Queensland Academy of Sport told A Current Affair.

"There are some amazing regional athletes that a lot of the time just either don't get seen by the higher level coaches, or just don't have the opportunity to try that sport that they might be good at," he added.

Sports Minister Tim Mander reckons Queensland is leading the talent scout charge.

There are people out there whose talent has never been identified... so this is our chance to find out who those athletes are and give them an opportunity on the world stage," he said.
