Elderly couple fighting for lives after terrifying alleged home invasion

Defending their lives and their home – that’s what pensioners Dianne and Keith Blessing did during a terrifying alleged home invasion.

Police allege the pensioners were stabbed by an intruder in their remote homestead before Keith fought back and shot him.

Dianne and Keith are now fighting for their lives in hospital, both in critical but stable conditions.

Police have charged Joshua Dylan Trethewey with two counts of wounding with intent to murder.
