Dirt bike bandits

Gangs of teens on dirt bikes are tearing through parks or across highways, often without helmets, a license, or a worry in the world, as they make videos to post online.

Statement from NSW Police

Both Mount Druitt and Nepean PAC have a number of trail bikes and specially-trained officers who are proactive in detecting and deterring illegal trail bike offences. They are regularly deployed and conduct enforcement operations.

The behaviour of trail bike riders is a major concern for police. Their reckless behaviour not only places their lives at risk but more importantly those of innocent people. 

When riders are detected breaking the law appropriate action is taken including: issuing infringements, charges, suspending licences and seizing their bikes. 

Issues relating to trail bikes should be reported at the time they are observed so that police can take necessary action.
