Oma's story is helping other Aussie families living with dementia

A devoted son documenting every moment of his mother 'Oma's' life is helping other families in Australia who have loved ones living with dementia.

Through the laughs, love and frustrations son Jason has been alongside Oma for the journey, proving family is everything while providing care for his mother.

"They're still in there somewhere," Jason told A Current Affair.

In one of the heartwarming videos, Jason can be seen taking his mother on a date.

"Thank you for being my date tonight," he said.

In another video he takes his mother along for a trip to the supermarket at home, when their family brought the shops to Oma.

"We've got the supermarket at home," he said.

Now Jason says he gets messages from other people who are going through something similar with their own family members who are living with this disease.

"We literally get thousands of messages of DM's a week from people saying, I don't feel alone anymore," he said.
