Hypnosis helps more Aussies to face COVID-19 jab fears

Let's face it - no one enjoys getting a needle.
But given most of us have recently been vaccinated at least once with the COVID-19 jab, it's something we have all faced.
However there are some people who have a terrifying fear of needles.

So much so, they have never had a blood test or received a COVID-19 vaccination.
Alex Rosales was one of these people until he underwent therapy with Mark Stephens, a renowned hypnotherapist and meditation expert.
Two hours with Mr Stephens and Mr Rosales received his much wanted vaccination.

But three week on and now due for his second jab - how did he go?
Did the therapy "wear off"?
Well, Mr Rosales got that second shot without a problem.

"Didn't even feel the needle go in," he said.
His story prompted thousands of people to contact A Current Affair asking for help because they too were needle "phobes".
Mira Wannis told us her four daughters are a nightmare when they are due to have a blood sample.
"I have to sit on them to stop them from running out of the clinic," she said.
So Mr Stephens got to "work" on them with a virtual session, which he is releasing to anyone who needs it, free of charge.

"I help people to relax, block the fears and simply clear their mind of the phobia" Mr Stephens said.
A short time later, the Wannis girls are rubbing a sharp needle over their arms without a care in the world.
And they've booked themselves in for a much needed COVID-19 jab.
"We can hardly wait," they told us.
