Pensioners left shattered after losing life savings to sinking cruise industry

It's cruise chaos for the Aussie pensioners who paid upfront for their dream holidays after COVID-19 caused the travel industry to take a nosedive.

One pensioner Elizabeth Bednarski, 73, said that while she understands the travel industry has suffered, so has she.

"The travel industry is really bleeding and so are we," Ms Bednarski told A Current Affair.

Ms Bednarski said regardless of the outlook for the industry, she really needs her money back.

"We all need the money; I mean they're sitting on it."

Another pensioner Emily Giorgetti said she also hope's her money will be returned after handing over her savings for a holiday. 

"We don't want these companies to take advantage of us," Ms Giorgetti said.

Now A Current Affair is campaigning to get these pensioners a refund.
