'I just can't believe that it's happening': Convicted killer granted parole
After a mother pleaded for her daughter's killer to be kept behind bars earlier this week, the New South Wales Parole Authority announced its decision to release William Matheson on parole.
"I just can't believe that it's happening. Please don't let him out. Don't let him out," Cynthia van Blanken told A Current Affair host Ally Langdon on Wednesday about her daughter Lindsay's killer.
The convicted murderer could be out of jail in as little as three weeks after he tortured and murdered 18-year-old Lindsay in 2003.

Her body was found stuffed in a cricket bag in a storage unit seven weeks after she first disappeared.
The NSW Parole Authority said Matheson will wear an electronic bracelet, be monitored 24/7 and be banned from entering three local government areas where Lyndsay's family live.

He's also required to stay on anti-psychotic medication.
The decision is something that terrifies Cynthia.
"He will do it again," she warned.
