Christmas with Delta enlists star-studded line up to bring festive season alive

Australia's sweetheart Delta Goodrem is returning to the stage this festive season for her latest Christmas with Delta Nine special. 

The Sydney Coliseum in Western Sydney will host the singer for an evening of Christmas magic, featuring a star-studded line up of local and internationally renowned performers, on December 17.

Delta sat down with A Current Affair ahead of her fourth Christmas special with the Nine Network, which will welcome special guests including British superstar Robbie Williams.

She said she could not wait to perform alongside Williams.

"There's some artists that are so authentic and so real so magnetic on stage, and he is a superstar," Delta said of Williams.

The production coincides with the Community of Kindness Christmas Campaign run through Delta's foundation, which encourages simple acts of kindness during the Christmas season.

"It's that Aussie spirit that goes, 'Hey I'm having a problem with this', 'Let's fix this' or 'Let's do the right thing' that is very true," she said.

This year's performance is hot on the heels of the 20th anniversary of one of Australia's biggest ever sellers - Delta's debut album Innocent Eyes.

"When I wrote that song when I was 18 and we just did the tour," she said.

"It's funny how I loved merging the classical and bringing it to life.

"It was really profound 20 years later to play that whole album from start to finish and hear everyone sing every single word to all that album because we listened to albums in that time."

Christmas with Delta will air on Sunday December 17 at 7pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
