'Jail cell or graveyard': Senior cop's blunt warning to teens eyeing off life of crime
"You end up in a jail cell or in a graveyard." That's the blunt message from a senior cop to teens who are thinking about a life of crime.
It comes as kids – some of them as young as 12 – are being groomed and recruited by violent organised crime gangs, often through social media.
"You've got 13- and 12-year-old kids who are doing home invasions with knives for the purpose of stealing cars," NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Jason Weinstein told A Current Affair.

"[It's] not so much for joy-riding anymore, but then moving those cars onto those inside the organised crime environment to use in some of those serious homicides and public place shootings that we've seen."
