Bruce Lehrmann identified as Toowoomba rape accused

When Queensland announced its new laws, it meant we should have been able to tell you the name of a man before court facing rape charges.

But that man and his lawyers have been trying to keep his name a secret.

We fought in court, and tonight we can reveal for the first time the details of this high-profile case involving former federal government staffer Bruce Lehrmann.

He has been charged with allegedly raping a young woman in Toowoomba in 2021.

He has strenuously denied these allegations.
