Cat owner calls out Brisbane public transport 'double standard'
Across Australia it's not uncommon to see a dog curled up with its owner on buses or trains.
But in Brisbane, one public transport rule has pet owners hissing.
Rescue cat Socko goes everywhere with his owner Sara Calle-Herera, but he is not allowed on the ferry.

However, pet dogs have been allowed on CityCat and Cross River ferries since 2020 if they are on a lead, wearing a muzzle or travelling in an enclosed carrier.
"If I have a dog, I can take him on the CityCat if I need to take him to the vet. But I have a cat and I can't," Calle-Herera said.
"I just think that it's a little bit of a double standard."
