Biden and Trump face off in wobbly first presidential debate
The first 2024 US presidential debate has seen the gloves come off between the incumbent Joe Biden and his predecessor Donald Trump.
Beamed live on CNN, the two foes went toe to toe on issues like immigration, abortion laws and climate change.
"The only existential threat to humanity is climate change and he didn't do a damn thing about it," Biden said of Trump.

United States Studies Centre director of research Jared Mondschein said it was a battle of the ailing and the angry.
"On Biden's side you're looking to see if he shows his age on Trump's side you're looking to see if he shows his rage," Mondschein said.
Under pressure to show he's fit for another four-year- term, 81-year-old Biden stumbled on his words early.

Meanwhile Trump - the ultimate disrupter - saw many verbal punches blunted by muted microphones.
But three years Bidens' junior, he still hit his target with a volley of jabs.
"You should be ashamed of yourself, you have destroyed the lives of so many people," Trump said.
"I think Biden voters wanted it to end much sooner rather than later," Mondschein said.
