$800,000 Bank Bungle

We’ve all had the odd disagreement with our bank – some more serious than others.

But the Lowther family have been locked in a dispute with their bank for a decade.

It’s already cost them $800,000 – and now the bank has taken their property too.

Statement from a Westpac spokesperson:

Due to customer confidentiality obligations we are unable to comment on specific details of customer matters but do confirm these customers were informed of our hardship assistance program.

As a general statement we do not authorise payments to any third parties without permission from the customer.
