Aussie mum busted by ACA camera crew after guilty plea for L-plate driving offences

Technology caught out young mother Lolelai Lakopo.

The introduction of mobile cameras catching motorists out for traffic offences was the technology, but what she was doing was beyond comprehension.

To top it off, the 28-year-old may have committed another road offence after being dealt with by the courts.

On Melbourne Cup Day last year Lakopo was snapped by a road camera driving in Bankstown.

When Transport for NSW officers looked at the photo closely, they couldn't believe what they saw.

The young mum was driving with a newborn baby unrestrained on her lap, wearing no seat belt and while using a mobile phone.

She pleaded guilty to all this while she was still on her L-plates.

For her recalcitrant efforts, she was given a small fine and banned from driving for 12 months.

But when A Current Affair came by her western Sydney home, they caught her loading up the car with kids and seemingly driving out unaccompanied again.

When later confronted, she ran inside her home, only for a housemate to come out and yell expletives.

On a second visit, we saw her catching an Uber while her car was left in the driveway.

Perhaps she has learnt her lesson at last?

Whether Police may have more to say to her remains to be seen, as we have informed them of our story.
