The Aussie man taking celebrity fandom to the extreme

We've seen fans go above and beyond for celebrities they admire, love and worship but one Queensland man has taken it to the extreme, getting portraits inked on his body.

Troy Kellehan started out as a blank canvas and now he's a walking work of art.

The 32-year-old is covered head-to-toe in tattoos and has become a gallery of famous faces with his favourite stars attracting the most attention.

From Australian singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem to the four leading ladies of the cult TV series Charmed and more recently Hollywood heart-throb Zac Efron.

"People were telling me I was crazy to do it. The more that people tell me that the more I'll do it," Troy told A Current Affair.

It all started when Troy was just 12 years old when he went to a tattoo artist some of his family members knew.

"[I] Ended up getting one on the back of my neck. My mum wasn't very impressed at all," he said.

But, over the years, Mr Kellehan's mum, Maureen, grew fond of his love of ink, even becoming an inspiration for his tattoos, starting with a small portrait of her on his hand after she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

He then got another one of her on his leg after Maureen sadly passed away only weeks after getting married at the age of just 57.

"I wanted to remember her with that photo because she looked really healthy at that moment and I wanted to make sure I carried that with me everywhere," Troy said.

His mum's beautiful smile is surrounded by the faces of people who have touched Troy's life.

The four female cast members of the supernatural series Charmed are among them after Troy developed an obsession with the show.

He visited the house from the show in the US multiple times.

But back home, Troy has an entire room dedicated to the series.

"So I've estimated roughly around $40,000 that I've spent," he said.

It has everything from cardboard cut-outs, to dolls and even a replica spell book, but it's a wall of photos that means the most.

"Getting to meet Holly Marie Combs and Shannan Doherty. That was incredible, one of the best experiences I've ever had," Troy said.

He also got the chance to show all four of their portraits on his body.

"Alyssa was mind blown. She couldn't believe the detail in the work," he said.

Troy also draws inspiration from stars closer to home, with a portrait of singer songwriter Goodrem, which he said was a must have.

"I've met Delta twice, but I haven't been able to show her the portrait," Troy said.  

But the biggest portrait so far, Troy said, is his favourite - Zac Efron.

"It was a dare from one of my friends, they knew how much I was a big fan of Zac," he said.

He's still hoping to meet the US actor who, for now, calls Australia home. His message to Zac would be: "(can I) please have five minutes of your time to have that one-on-one chat to be able to show him the portrait in person".

Right now, any future portraits are on hold.

Mr Kellehan's talented tattoo artist Damien Wickham is yet to return from America, but when and where will the work stop for Troy?

"My boss has told me none on my face. So, to be continued is all I can say," he said.
