So when an opportunity was presented to the station to cover the boom in Australians cruising in Alaska, management thought, what a nice farewell story for 'ol Brady?

Alaska is known as the last frontier and now Australians, more than ever before, are visiting this remote corner of the world to see the landscape, wildlife and people of this unique region.
Princess Cruises flew myself and the crew over to experience it for ourselves.
The best, and for the most part, only way to see Alaska is by cruise ship.

So I boarded Princess Cruise Lines Majestic Princess, as we sailed up the waterway known as the inside passage to quaint colourful seaside towns and into remote bays where glaciers are abound.
I rode husky sleds like the locals.
I threw an axe like the lumberjacks and walked on a glacier.
They were experiences you could never have here in Australia.

No wonder so many from Down Under are now making the trip.
I've had a privileged career and travelled the world in this job.
This was one of the best.
I should retire more often.

And one A Current Affair viewer has the chance to take a guest to see Alaska in the flesh on a free seven-day cruise.
The lucky competition winner will be able to take in the sights from a balcony stateroom onboard the Majestic Princess.
They will board from Canada on September 2 and the prize includes air transfers worth $10,000.
The competition is open until Thursday June 15, and the winner will be announced on A Current Affair on Saturday June 17.
