When any customer is impacted by a distressing event and makes a claim with us, our highest priority is to make it as simple as possible to have their home repaired.

The CommInsure Home Insurance policy provides comprehensive cover for policyholders against a wide range of events including Fire, Flood, Storm, Earthquake and Theft. It also provides a range of additional benefits such as temporary accommodation costs and loss of rent if these events were to occur. To provide flexibility for our customers, there are also a range of optional policy coverage that can be selected, and an additional premium is charged for these benefits.

We have been working closely with Mrs Whitbread through the claim process, however when assessing the claim it was identified that Mrs Whitbread had not selected the optional policy coverage that would cover the type of malicious damage caused by her tenants. We are currently working with Mrs Whitbread to review whether any accidental damage caused to the property can be covered.
