Battling dad loses $7000 in payments to 'curse-breaking' astrologer

It starts off as a bit of fun: $20 to get your fortune told.

Indian astrologers can now be found in every city and some towns around Australia.  They're everywhere on the internet.

They promise to fix relationship problems, help childless couples fall pregnant, turn your love-life around even promising to fix legal or visa issues you may have. 

So that initial consultation can minutes later lead to being told you have a curse explaining all your bad luck in life, and with several more expensive sessions that curse can be lifted.

A lot of people would walk away, you'd think, but there are some frightened by what they've been told and worried that if they don't remove this so-called curse things may get even worse in their life.

That's what happened to Nasser Zahr.

Nasser has two severely disabled kids and a wife also suffering health issues.

So when he was approached by a fortune teller one day at his local shopping centre, he thought, why not?

The curse story, he said, came soon after his astrologer learnt Nasser had disabled kids.

He claims he was told if he didn't have further sessions life would get even worse for him and his children would die.

So he went along with more meetings, and his wallet and bank account soon emptied to the tune of $7000.

Even before our story aired many people contacted us telling similar stories after watching the brief promotion for it. 

With so many so called astrologers doing it in so many places around the country there's sure to be much more to this story over coming weeks.
