Dr Munjed Al Muderis is always happy to tell his life story. And why not? It's a gripping and inspirational adventure. Forced to flee Iraq's brutal dictatorship in the late 1990s, he was a refugee who made a perilous journey to Australia by boat. Then seizing on his good fortune, he worked tirelessly to became one of our most acclaimed orthopaedic surgeons; a hero doctor devoted to helping people walk again. But here, unfortunately, is where we leave Munjed Al Muderis' carefully curated script and cut to the point. In a joint investigation by 60 MINUTES, The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald, a number of the surgeon's patients accuse him of not taking proper care of them, and reveal startling evidence which shows in graphic detail why they're so angry.
