Detectives have announced a reward of up to $350,000 for information that will lead to the conviction of violent robbers who assaulted staff at a Mount Dandenong hotel in 2014.

Two workers were locking up the hotel on March 22 when two men in balaclavas and gloves pushed their way through the back door about 2am, Victoria Police have been told.

The men assaulted the workers – a man and a woman – with an unknown weapon.

The male worker was dragged across the floor and further assaulted, and the offenders stole cash, a wallet and jewellery before fleeing.

The male worker suffered a fractured eye socket and serious cuts to his head, and the female worker suffered a fractured skull and cuts. They were both taken to hospital for treatment.

The hotel did not have CCTV cameras, but the offenders are described as both having solid builds and were wearing dark clothing at the time.

Police today announced a reward of up to $350,000 would be paid for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of the people responsible.

It will be paid at the discretion of the Chief Commissioner of Police.

Indemnity from prosecution to anyone who provides information who is not the principal offender may also be considered, police said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
