$34.3m blow-out for new Adelaide hospital

Construction delays on the new Royal Adelaide Hospital will cost the state government an extra $34.3 million.

The $1.85 billion hospital was meant to open in April next year, but Health Minister Jack Snelling on Thursday said unforeseen building delays and additional site remediation had pushed that back to November.

He said while construction would finish in July, it would be unsafe to move patients into the new hospital until after the flu season.
