19 Sydney rail stations to get a clean-up
Nineteen railway stations across Sydney will be part of a $22 million refresh program.
Transport Minister Gladys Berejiklian says Asquith, Berala, Blacktown, Bondi Junction, Burwood, Caringbah, Carramar, Chester Hill, Granville, Gymea, Hurstville, Kogarah, Lidcombe, Martin Place, Parramatta, Penrith, Redfern, St Leonards and Strathfield stations will all get a deep clean.
"Our customers are telling us they want cleaner facilities and improved security, so we are delivering on some of the busiest stations across Sydney," Ms Berejiklian said.
Work includes cleaning, painting, refreshing customer toilets, installing new water bubblers, new seating, additional bins, improvements to station security, with improved lighting and additional Help Points where needed.
The announcement comes a day after the NSW government said Wynyard Station would get a $100 million upgrade.
Work has also started on an $8 million refresh to Town Hall Station, while two new lifts are being installed at Circular Quay Station and Museum Station.
