$100m innovation hub for UNSW

The University of NSW has teamed up with the Chinese on a new $100 million innovation precinct.

UNSW Vice-Chancellor Ian Jacobs said the Torch precinct deal would help boost Australian research in advanced materials, biotechnology, energy and environmental engineering.

"This is about future proofing our national competitiveness by strategically positioning Australia as China becomes the world's largest investor in research and development and the twenty first century's science and technology superpower," Professor Jacobs said in a statement.
